O álbum intitulado "Ghosts" foi distribuído sob uma licença não comercial, o que permite que o mesmo seja partilhado.
O álbum distribuído gratuitamente pela banda é o primeiro de 4 volumes. A banda colocou também no seu site oficial os 4 volumes mais uns extras à venda por apenas 5$.

They further write in the release notes “But if you’re interested in the release, we encourage you to check it out at ghosts.nin.com, where the complete Ghosts I-IV is available directly from us in a variety of DRM-free digital formats, including FLAC lossless, for only $5.”

Uma boa iniciativa por parte da banda, penso que é uma maneira de "combater a pirataria".
Pessoalmente penso que baixando os preços dos jogos e cds de música já é um passo bem grande para se combater a pirataria.
Pagar 15€ por um cd de música (com umas 12 faixas em que apenas 3 ou 4 se aproveitam) ou 40€ por um jogo devia ser considerado crime...
